Taunton Fabrications were pleased to be part of a team of house building specialists, who provided their services free of charge in constructing a bespoke home for a disabled former Royal Marine.
Corporal Phillip Eaglesham deployed to Afghanistan on his third operational tour with the Royal Marines in March 2010. Whilst preparing to leave for home in October 2010 he became ill with that was later diagnosed as Q Fever - a debiliating condition caused by a bacteria from animals. Thanks to the generosity and donations from a variety of local & national companies - including Taunton Fabs - The Royal Marines Charity have been able to deliver one of the biggest and most ambitious projects it has ever undertaken. Taunton Fabrications Production Director, David Phelps, said:
The Royal Marines are an important part of the community here in Taunton and when we found out that some steelwork was required to build a home for a disabled serviceman we immediately wanted to help.
