Project: Sandford Care Home
Architect: KWL Architects
Main Contractor: DR Jones Ltd

Taunton Fabrications has recently completed a contract for DR Jones at Sandford Station Care Village (North Somerset). The development is centred on a communal retirement care facility, with specialised groundbreaking care for people suffering with dementia. The site is located on the site of the former 1869 Great Western built Sandford and Banwell Station. Some existing buildings have been restored and incorporated into the project.

Taunton Fabrications were contracted to install two feature staircases, complete with communal atrium balustrade to the inside covered living areas. This featured glass infill panels, powder coated mild steel with timber handrails. Also included were several staircase balustrades fitted to existing concrete staircases formed of mild steel with a powder coated finish applied to each.

The Works:

Glass galustrades & treads

Internal escape stairs
