The Melkham Oak School project included eighteen staircases, together with the associated stainless steel and glass balustrade. All work was pre-finished off site which meant that there was no on-site painting by the main contractor. The external fire escapes were manufactured and pre-assembled in large components that again speeded up the on-site installation period.
