Buckfast Abbey dates back to 1088 and is home to the well known Benedictine monastic community that is based there. It was therefore a great privilege for Taunton Fabrications to be able to work closely with architects and engineers on the design, manufacture and installation of a canopy structure for the Abbey – one that would give a modern feel without impacting on the beauty of its surroundings.
The canopy is supported on tree-like timber columns, each sporting eight 'branches' and the blend of Douglas Fern timber, glavanized steel and the opaque glass roof produces a stunning result.
