Project: The Beacon Centre, Musgrove Park Hospital

Taunton Fabrications provided all of the secondary and architectural metalwork on the new Beacon Centre at Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton.
A complex structural steel frame was manufactured from rolled tubes and angle sections were installed to provide support to the feature glazed roof lantern. The setting out and design geometry was made easy with the use of our 3D design capabilities.
The helical stair structure was installed early in the overall construction process. The balustrade was then installed, which incorporated acid etched glass infill panels with stainless steel balusters.
Taunton Fabrications also carried out a wide range of secondary steelwork that included; circulation stairs, plant-room access stairs, cat ladders, open mesh walkways, and railing and gaurd rails.
